inSSIDer a more accurate signal chart, thanks to which you can detect anomalies. In WiFi Explorer accurate signal is low sampling and shows a smooth graph….
Your app does’t works from dec 2015!!!
Its a very good app. I have a suggestion for a new feature anyway :) Perhaps not every user of this app is well accustomed with all the types of data that they are provided with. I guess, some sort of guide to better understand the meaning each type of data, their consequences on the networks performance and what users can do to affect each variable might be very useful to fully appreciate the value of the app.
I had just purchased my Airport Time Capsule and was pretty disapointed with the wifi of the unit after setting it all up. The speeds through ethernet were incredible (I was previously using an Airport express…not gigabit ethernet) but the speeds over wifi were fairly poor. I would get at least 100 mbps down via ethernet but on wifi i would maybe get 50 mbps down. After opening up Wifi Explorer I discovered that even though I had the wifi channel setup to automatic, it chose a channel that had 15 other wifi networks on it. After switching it to a channel that none of my neighbors were using, my wifi speed jumped all the way up to 100 mbps, just like the ethernet speed that I get. Seriously cannot express how happy I am I discovered this app. Well worth the price. Thank you so much for creating this app!
Fantastic app! I used it to help determine the best spot to locate my Wifi range extender. The range extended vendor recommeded that the extender be placed where the signal was 50%- with Wifi Explorer that was easy to do and allowed me to find the perfect place to locate my range extender. I’ve had this application for a while and appreciate the updates and support the vendor provides.
This tool allowed me to see the performance of my wireless network instantly. It almost seemed like magic! I particularly like the ability to monitor performnance (signal strength) since after a recent Comcast change to our service I’ve been experiencing difficulty with wireless connectivity. The Comcast service change shouldn’t be related because I’m using an Airport Time Capsule, but I need to check every angle. Thanks!
Gives you a lot of information (more than you will ever need) on all the networks around you. I ditched inSSider for this and it is much better.
I have used this application for a while however now it is not consistent. It shows my network signal dissapearing on and off. Other tools show the wifi signal strong. If it cannot display accurately what is going on I cannot rely on it.
I use it to see the strength of my wifi signal and to see what channel my neighbors are on so that I can chose a different channel.
Wasn’t exactly sure what was going on with my wifi till I looked at the display from this app. It was then blindingly obvious what my issue was and how to fix it. Great app!
This seems to be a handy tool. Just learning how to use it but really like it. Recommended!
Very responsive and useful.
This app is amazing. Powerful data collection tool. Powerful troubleshooting tool. Easy use. This latest update includes all fields in the CSV export, which is the only ask I had previously. Pretty stoked about that. Hats off to the dev, solid work here.
Do a quick but deep dive on available networks. Well conceived and executed.
I’ve been using WiFi Explorer for over a year now, and it has proven to be extremely useful. It allows me to walk around a customer site, find dark spots in WiFi coverage, determine locations where channels density is low, and generally provide me with insight into the coverage of the wireless network. I also appreciate the help files which the app offers, because they help me understand the meanings of some obscure terms and measurements, like dbm. I highly recommend this app!
Gets almost all the basic data I need for troubleshooting Wi-fi networks at a fraction of the cost of more sophisticated tools.
Great App, thank you!
I love this app. It’s so slick and easy. I run in once weekly to see what new wi-fi networks have popped up near to my home. Then I adjust the channcels of my own to reduce intereference. Becuase of this I get great sustained and reliable throughput everywhere in my 2-story house, even with a repeater. Still the best.
Great application that does exactly what I need and provides all the troubleshooting necessary for basic support. Quickly found overlapping networks and adjusted frequencies to reduce conflicts.
