Great tool for exploring nearby Wifi Signals. Works as advertised and is truly worthy of the Mac Platform. Worth the money.

Really helpful to analyze your WLAN environment. Have it a long time and have been experiencing a continuos update and maintenance, which is an asset. Found it now to be significantly more expensive than some two, three years ago and certainly would think twice according to its recent price. Nevertheless I can confirm: It is well done, has a rich functionality, works seamless, provides information effectively. So it is still a buy!

This is a fantastic tool for setting up wireless networks. This is even better than the indispensable tool called WiFi Analyzer that the author wrote for the iPhone. Since Apple killed all tools like this for the iPhone, I have been desperately searching for something as good that will run on my MBA. This beats it… in spades. While there may be some other information that I wish this app added in a future version, I could find nothing that would keep me from giving this app a 5-star review. Update: What I wished for was the ability to see which routers still have WPS enabled so I can turn it off (due to security bug in the protocol). Version 1.1 adds that -- now I only wish I could give it 6 stars.

This application is almost identical to a Windows application named "inSSIDer". It gives you a clear picture graph view of which channels are being used by other WiFi access points in the area, and their relative signal strength. This will help you pick the best channel to set for your WiFi router, and do a better job than the "auto" channel selection feature of most routers. The ability to watch and/or log WiFi information over time allows you to deal with interference issues that may not exist at every moment in time. I used this program to solve a problem with the free WiFi at my local coffee shop. Their WiFi would become unresponsive several times per week to several times per day. By monitoring their WiFi environment over time, I learned that another WiFi access point was popping up occasionally, using the same channel and having a strong signal. This would knock the coffee shop WiFi offline until they rebooted their router. In other words what looked like the best channel most of the time, would become an unuseable channel when this 3rd party access point would kick in. Using this information I switched to the coffee shop router to a different channel, and they have not had a problem since. One suggestion to make this program even easier to use, is to incorporate a feature offered by a program also called "WiFi analyzer" that is available for jaiil broken iPhones. That program has a simple info page which gives a 1 to 5 star rating to each available channel, the 5 star ratings being the most recommended channels for you to use. It is unfortunate that to use a tool like this on the iPhone one can not do so through the official app store.

Downloaded and installed the app. Tried to launch and wouldnt. Tried a second time still the same sent reports both times so I deleted it and downloaded it again with the same results. Ill try something else and hope I get a refund or credit.

Installed on Mountain Lion and monitoring/using only Apple WiFi products (iMac, A. Extreme, A. Express) There some bugs like the Network name sometime ending up with a different MAC address… and it crashed often when you hit the 2.4/5.0GHz buttons… The rest is ok but this app should be free until debugged.

EXACTLY what Ive been looking for. I live in a newer development, lots of houses and lots of wifi. This app is perfect, instant graphical reference of overlapping channels and signal strengths. Took me 15 seconds to figure out the app, very user friendly. VERY well done! Easily worth the pocket change to buy it.

Easy to use, and so much wiser than playing the guessing game for which Channel to use. Within a minute I found my neighbour was using the same channel than mine in the 2.4Ghz band. Also realized than no one in the area is using 5Ghz.

As others have said, very easy to use interface. Gave me clear detail of signal strength and channel utilization for the networks around us, and some key configuration information about our own network. Does not list devices using our network. What you see in the screenshots is what you get. Answered my questions about our system.

Seems like a solid application, but the information provided is pretty much over my head. Would like to know what I can do to optimize my network or some sort of recommendations result from this application.

This app has helped me to set up my wireless so that it’s much more efficient; very useful if you know how to change your router/modem settings. Overall, very pleased with the results.

Is wifi explorer only scanning networks? Can we limit someone wifi?

It provides a clear graph showing you all the other networks that are potentially interfering with your own. It will help you find what’s making your wifi slow so you can reconfigure your router and improve wireless speed. I’m happy with it.

Had an issue with our home network due to channel interference with neighbours. With WiFI Explorer, I was able to clearly see what the problem was and switch channels so that our network was back up to speed. Well worth the money and it is constantly updated as well.

Bought this App in April of 2012 and it’s still being updated. Great continued support from a developer that hasnt abandoned their software.

This is a really easy-to-understand visualization of WiFi networks in your area. If you need it, you need it a lot and it’s worth more than $5! There’s not a lot of complexity here, but it seems to work perfectly.

Having used this app for a couple of years, it is the most important tool I’ve used to resolve wi-fi dropouts and poor connections. The ability to see all the signals in the area and their potential for interference means I can track down offending wireless printers, and if necessary, move channel assignments for better connections.

I love this tool. It gives great insight into the otherwise invisible universe of wifi. I have been a user for several years and still come back to use when I go somewhere to look at wifi availability. There is good speedy support from the author. Some of the metrics are above my head, but I have learned a lot over the years using it. I have especially appreciated seeing when my one of my old routers had an irregular signal strength. I have also been able to site new ones to get better signal strength. Five solid stars from me.

Love this ap. Handy, great visuals for determining conflicting channels, not overly complicated from an interface perspective.
