WiFi Explorer: Scanner App Reviews

This app hellped me a ton when I was trying to figure out what was going on with my new wifi router. With WiFi Explorer it is easy to see what is going on.

I wish it was available for iOS...

Just wanna give out a 5 star that this app is contantly updated for bug fixing and stuff. i don’t use it that much but nowadays app programer could be lazy and not updating their apps constantly. Cheers for that!

A very useful tool.

I am very glad I purchased this app some time ago. It has been very handy at locating networks near me, determing signal strength and also helping me select the best channel for my home network. I have used it to help with my own network and also those of some relatives and my parents. Thanks a lot for keeping the app current and adding nice enhancements.

In my house the wireless router is required to be on one side of the house. This causes a weaker signal right off the bat for devices in much of my home. With this utility, I was able to see what the other wifi networks were doing in my neighborhood (I live on a corner lot). I’ve been so happy with the tools in this application and would def recommend it to others. It’s well worth the money, especially if you’re pulling your hair out trying to make your home network perform better! GREAT application - get it if you need an easy to understand wifi signal troubleshooting tool.

I was having a problem with interference on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands in my house. After lamenting to a friend of the frustructions I experienced trying to hand map things out, they recommended I check out this app. It does exactly what I need it to do, is easy to use, and has a lot of really nice visualisations to help put crowded bands and channels into an easily digestable form. Very happy with this app.

If I know I have a slow or intermettent wifi signal, what does this program do? It shows the speed, which I can get for free, and shows the noise interference. I don’t know how this helps me fix things. Am I missing something??

This app has saved me countless hours troubleshooting my network. The channel view is incredibly useful for visualizing the environment and finding open channels, as well as planning dense deployments with intentionally overlapping channels. The advanced details view is also incredibly useful for making sure all of the hundreds of 802.11 options and features are configured they way theyre supposed to be. This app is worth well over $100.

Each time an update comes out, it looks nicer and works better. I’m impressed.

I’ve used quite a few free wifi scanners and tools and they all work fairly well, so at first I hesitated to purchase an app similar in functionality to the freebies… But I did and it was definitely worth it. It is my go-to tool when troubleshooting networks or just looking for a public wifi network to connect to. Very easy to use for basic stuff, but plenty of advanced info as well! Definitely worth the $15.

It has everything I need for a quick RF survey. The UI is very slick and it loads information quickly. I really hope, the author will keep on expanding the features on this tool, maybe a built-in packet capture or even a mini spectrum analyzer…

I’ve used this to help find quick solutions to wifi issues at many locations. People are surprised at what $15 can do versus a multi-hundred or thousand dollar dedicated tool. Obviously the dedicated tools are used for more detailed troubleshooting - but when you just need to take a quick peak at the airwaves and figure out who’s hogging the channels - this is the one. Worth the price of admission.

I use it to view other wifi networks in my area. I also use it to confirm my WIFI is broadcasting on the correct band. Does what it is supposed to.

This is a very useful tool which I use all the time to check on my wireless connection. It has a nice user interface, it’s stable… a fine piece of software.
